With a background that bridges public health, business, and technology, Vanessa approaches every challenge through a uniquely interdisciplinary lens.

Vanessa began her career in public health, working with an organization that was at the forefront of leveraging business practices to drive social change. After earning her MBA she moved into the tech sector, leading teams that built data-driven, human-centered products from concept to launch.

Vanessa believes that the creativity and innovation shaping the tech world should be harnessed to tackle society’s most pressing challenges, and she’s excited to bring that vision to life with Kaldero.

Heather studied Sociology and Education Policy, and spent the first 10 years of her career working in education-focused nonprofit roles.

She then changed careers into software engineering, where she dabbled in AI and spent a decade building data-focused tools and leading teams. Two of her most recent positions were focused on building tools for compensation equity and climate change, specifically energy efficiency. 

More recently, she has been interested in data governance and ethics, especially as it applies to generative AI, and obtained two certifications in this domain: one from the AI, Tech, and Privacy Academy and the other from Purdue University. 

Her goal is to equip leaders in the impact sector to face the increasingly complex technology landscape.
